One month in Uganda
Every year we spend some time in sunny Uganda .This year we spent one month on the White Nile. Me and Peter and our friend Tomo, we traveled there beginning of February. After one month in cold Europe it was the right time to leave again.
We arrived at 8.30 pm and after a misunderstanding with our driver, who actually wasn’t there to wait for us, we found one guy who took us to Hairy Lemon. It is very difficult to get there without right guy because no one knows where it is. After 6 hours of driving and two long stops(our driver still neede something like go to service for one hour) we finally got there. But we didn’t know that they started locking the boat so we had to paddle on the other side in our small kayaks with all the bags and in the middle of night. It was quite scary experience J. Next day we woke up to sunny day and excited we hurried up to paddle.

Nina surfing Nile Special
In the morning the water was quite low – good enough for club wave. In the evening Nile special was running but only with the rope.

Going for the Donkey
We been training twice a day but after one week we needed to make a break. Peter got sick, I think he brought it from cold Europe and I also got it because of him. We moved to Bujagali and rested there for while. We did a day one section couple of times and enjoyed local restaurants.I was very happy and surprised how many African friends I met there and they still remembered me.
After few days we were good again and could move down to Hairy lemon again. We trained and enjoyed waves every day.

I learnt and improved some new tricks and was very happy because of it.
This time our friend Tomo got malaria so we were little bit worried about him. But next day he was fit again like nothing happened :-).
We been in Uganda three times before but we never had so strange weather there. The island used to be very sunny and it used not to to rain there even if it was raining in whole Uganda. This year we had one week of rain and storms. Strange but it didn’t take our taste for paddling.

After a month of great time spent on this amazing river we had to fly back home. Quite sad we left this paradise but next year we will be there again for sure!
